Therefore, since our stomachs are filled and our needs are met, who needs God?
Since I mentioned the beginning, several passages in this song of Moses talk about creation and imply that if you reject that God is creator and our Father, and accept Satan's lie that evolution is true, then you are on the dangerous path to rejecting God. If you aren't worshipping God, you are worshipping something else which may not look like the idols of ancient civilization but look more like self(ies), money, family, success, pleasure ... all of which replace the rightful throne of God who created you for His good pleasure. If you reject creation then you aren't "under God", there are no absolute wrongs or rights, there is no Heaven or Hell or judgement day and life has no purpose. We are all cosmic accidents that went from goo to the zoo to you.
This is why I harp on the necessity, inspiration, holiness and supernaural nature of the Bible. Yet pastors, Christian Colleges, theologians, to be accepted by the world are undermining its truth and value. Let's focus on Christ and His resurrection, not the Bible. Tell that to William Tyndale and Thomas Matthew who were burned at the stake for translating the Bible into English so everyone could have one and read one, not just the religious leaders. Tell that to Wycliffe who translated the Bible for the common man and was imprisoned. Because he had connections, he was not martyred but...
the best they could do was to burn his bones [in 1427], just to make sure his resting place was not venerated. The Archbishop of Canterbury explained that Wycliffe had been “that pestilent wretch, of damnable memory, yea, the forerunner and disciple of antichrist who, as the complement of his wickedness, invented a new translation of the scriptures into his mother-tongue”.
Tell that to Jan Hus who was slaughtered and burned at the stake for translating the Bible into the Czech language. Tell that to Jacob VanLiesveldt who translated the Bible into the Dutch language and was martyred for heresy. And it still happens today ...
In 1993 Edmund Fabian was murdered in Papua New Guinea, killed by a local man who had been helping him translate the Bible. In March 2016, four Bible translators working for an American evangelical organisation were killed by militants in an undisclosed location in the Middle East.
And lastly tell that to Robert Thomas, a young Welsh Missionary, who boarded a ship destined to Korea with a crateload of Chinese Bibles, determined to win Korea for the Lord. The boat got stuck in the river and the Koreans attacked the boat. Robert Thomas desperately unpacked the crate and threw the Bibles to the attakers. The man who killed him took the Bible home and wallpapered his house with it convinced that he had killed a good man. People who could read Mandarin came to the house and read what was on the walls and the Church in Korea was begun.
As we are tempted to relegate the Bible to a less important state, God warns against that as does Church History.
