Note to parents
Our kids will be in many competitions from school awards, to sporting events, to beauty pagents and on and on. While competing for the prize is not bad, we cant lose sight of the fact that we are competing for heavenly prizes which are eternal and much better than what the mayor had to offer. Don't lose sight of the fact that the people you are competing against are also loved by God and extremely important to Him. Treat your competitors with that in mind and try to win, but if you lose, be happy for the ones who won, and never compromise your morals in the midst of the competition.
